The increasing poverty in our country India forced me to write this article today. My article today is based on the fact that every capable person can eradicate poverty from India forever by helping another helpless and unable person.
By just blaming the government and thinking that the government is not doing anything for the poor people, you are not helping the poor people but this gives you a new topic for debate.
I believe that you should not care about what other people (not just the government, but everyone around you) do. You should see how many helpless people you have helped in your life.
“Let us understand this better through a short story.”
Let’s get started:
Today is Diwali night and that day was also Diwali night. When I and my family were thrown out of my own house saying that we no longer have any right in this house. Rajesh and his family were thrown out of the house after his father’s death.
Today suddenly Rajesh was remembering an incident that happened 10 years ago. All the memories were like a nightmare for him, the pain of which does not go away even after a person wakes up.
He remembers how his mother was helplessly asking everyone for permission to let her and her family stay in the house. Even today Rajesh feels the pain of his mother’s tears. Despite the fact that they also had a right over the house, no one supported Rajesh’s family. Everyone wanted Rajesh to leave the house with his family. Since Rajesh was the eldest among his siblings, a lot of responsibilities came upon him at a very young age.
He had to struggle a lot in the first 5 years. Sometimes he and his family don’t even get enough food to eat. After many challenges, disappointments, defeats and struggles, today he was at a point where he had everything. In all these years, my relatives never remembered us. No one ever asked how we were.
Rajesh thought to himself:
I am completely satisfied with my life. I have provided all the comforts to my mother.
“My younger brother is studying medicine. My sister, whose marriage I arranged with a lot of fanfare this year to a businessman. I hope that wherever my father is, he will be watching us. My father will also be very happy and he will be proud of me.”
Today when our day has changed, all those relatives who did not even pick up our calls, want to talk to me only because today I am helping them with money. I didn’t know people could be so selfish. But it’s good for me because my struggle taught me life lessons that probably no one else could have taught me.
Rajesh and his family celebrated Diwali with great pomp.
After the celebration:
Everyone was sitting at the dining table. Then Rajesh saw a woman outside the window who had three children and she was feeding them. There were three children, but she had only two breads.
Seeing this, Rajesh remembered his past life and became very emotional and took some food from his house and gave it to that woman. Rajesh felt very satisfied after seeing the happiness on that woman’s face.
Next morning when Rajesh was going to his office he suddenly remembered the incident of the previous night.
“When I gave food to that woman, she and her family were so happy. The happiness on their faces was so satisfying.”
The next moment he wondered if this was enough?
Rajesh: I provided them with one-time meal but what about today’s breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Thinking this, all his happiness suddenly disappeared. After thinking for a while, Rajesh decided that he would arrange food for them.
Rajesh: But for how long?
Our bodies need food until our last breath. How long will I be able to do this for them?
What if I take responsibility of that family?
If I take responsibility of that family, their lives will change. But in our India, there are many people who cannot even provide proper food to their families.
Then Rajesh decided that he would donate some part of his earnings to the poor, so that they never face shortage of food.
Rajesh: But is it enough?
If I continue to provide them with free food, will it secure their future?
By doing this they will all become dependent and stop working hard. If this happens then there will be a shortage of boys like Rajesh in India. My country India will not be able to progress. I don’t want the future of my country India to be like this. India needs such people. By making these children dependent, I can put the future of my country in danger.
I want that every person in my country should not depend on anyone and should stand on his own feet.
Then Rajesh decided that…
He will provide food to families who are financially weak. Along with this, he will provide food to economically weak families and open a school for helpless children so that they can get free education and make their career on their own.
Moreover, he decided that he would try to provide employment to such helpless people so that not only their present but also their future will be secure.
My purpose of writing this article:
My purpose of writing this story was that I wanted to make you all realize that, “We are becoming so busy in our lives that we do not even notice how many helpless people are around us.”
Today there are many people in our country India who do not have proper food to eat, do not have a house and do not have good clothes to wear.
I have heard many people say that they want to move towards achieving satisfaction and peace. You can definitely get satisfaction and peace by helping the helpless and destitute people. Let me tell you one thing very clearly. There is no mathematical formula to get satisfaction and peace. When you do good deeds in your life, the universe gives you peace and satisfaction in return.
So, my request is to open your eyes and let your ears hear the voice of all such helpless and unable people. After reading this article of mine, please help someone in need. I guarantee that the universe will definitely give you satisfaction and peace.
